Unbreakable plastic, the model has been scaled to 3-1/2 times life size to enhance difficult to observe details. The outer portion of the jaw bone has been cut away exposing the roots of the teeth, their nerves and blood vessels. Four teeth can be extracted from the jaw: an incisor, a premolar, molar, and a developing canine. One molar has caries. Upper and lower Periodontal involved model showing normal healthy bone & tissue on one side and opposing side demonstrating periodontally affected areas with calculus deposits. Soft pink silicone material gingivae is sectioned interproximally and through the buccal at the mid line allowing easy demonstration during patient discussions. The teeth included on the normal side are securely held in place and are not removable. On the periodontally affected side, the teeth are anatomically rooted and are held in place with adhesive to demonstrate mobility. Excellent tool for patient education.
